North Texas progressive /Dallas Air America Radio GroupsAnnual Fundraiser
It's time for us to pay our bills at North Texas Progressive - this includes all of our operating expenses for the ENTIRE year and includes our domain/web space (northtexasprogressive.org, dallasairamerica.org, codepinkdallas.net) costs as well as our operating and MeetUp costs. 
We really have had a great year this year and made huge accomplishments. This year we helped get progressive radio back on in North Texas, Rational Radio KMNY 1360 went on live part- time and then full -time in North Texas. It is now the ' blow torch of truth'  broadcasting the progressive message across North Texas at 50,000 watts. Our members also worked like crazy to help get Texas Democrats organized, informed and turnout at the polls. We didn't take the state but we sure took the entire country!
We volunteer, we vote, we protest, we donate, we organize - we are progressives! Welcome Obama and we aren't going anywhere we are going to keep working for Democratic and progressive causes.

In order to better represent the new world of progressive talk and to encompass all of the DFW area we successfully morphed our name from Dallas Air America to North Texas Progressive.
One very exciting event this year was that we manned and operate THE ONLY progressive talk radio booth at Netroots Nation, the annual progressive blogger convention (formerly known as Yearly KOS). This event was held in Austin, Texas and we were invited by Netroots to have a booth and talk to all 2,000 attendees about progressive talk. Air America Radio didn't have a booth -they all had to hang around at our booth. We offer a very special thank you to Sam Seder for helping man the booth and talking to fans.
Sam Seder has always been a big supporter of this group and you will find that he very generously donated some of our prizes.  We (special thanks to our long time member, Don Dureau) even helped host a Sederista meetup of Sam fans at a local Irish bar and we were also helpful to him when he screened his 2001 film, Bad Situationist at the conference.
 
Speaking of national progressive talk talent, that have always been big supporters of our North Texas fan group, we also send a special thanks to Thom Hartman for his support and encouragement.

Also our wonderful progressive host and friend from Asheville , NC Air America station, Errington Thompson ( he's originally a Dallasite) for donating a wonderful iPod nano as one of our gifts this year -so you can load it up with Errington's show and all your other favorite progressive talk shows! North Texas Progressive. org looks forward to 2009 and the Obama presidency and realizes that Obama is really going to need progressive / Democratic support to accomplish his goals and we will need your help to keep going.
