Ways you can help protect the vote .. |

Video the vote- In 2000 and 2004, problems
plagued the polls in different parts of the country:
long lines, eligible voters turned away, voter
intimidation, misallocation and malfunctioning of
voting equipment. They were underreported on
Election Day. Days and weeks later, a more complete
picture of voter disenfranchisement emerged—but it
was too late. The elections were over and the media
had moved on. Starting this election, citizen
journalists—people like you and I— will document
problems as they occur. They'll play them online,
spread word through blogs and partner websites,
doing our part to make sure the full story of our
elections is told.
866 - OUR- VOTE This is a hot line set up by the
Election Protection Coalition, a group that was
formed to identify and stamp out attempts to
disenfranchise voters, especially in predominantly
black and Latino precincts around the country. On
Election Day in November, the coalition expects to
have as many as 25,000 volunteers, including 5,000
lawyers, available to provide assistance to voters
who encounter irregularities or feel they are not
being treated fairly at the polls. Voters who call
the hot line will immediately be put in touch with
volunteers in their local area. The coalition is
also urging people to call the hot line now if they
are aware of efforts to discourage or prevent people
from voting.
Also some other great ideas from Rachel Van Os
( wife of candidate , David Van Os -Texas AG)
1.)Vote now and make sure your vote gets counted.
2.) Always file a complaint in writing on the
spot--- with the Election Judge and write down names
of witnesses. 3.) Also file a complaint at the local
Elections division of your county seat. 4.) Call
your local Democratic party office. 5.) Call local
and statewide candidates to inform them and ask for
their help. 6.) Call any talk-show radio shows and
tell them to tell people/voters to be very aware and
very careful when voting. 7.) Call the Media/ talk
to the political writers and send electronic
messages to them. (SAVE copy of message with date &
time) 8.) Warn others before they go in to vote (be
nice and try not to scare them) 9.) Be aware and
cautious when voting to avoid these problems---like
now you see it and now you don't. (not good) 10.)
Send a letter to the Editor---and demand a paper
ballot next election. Get involved in your party and
voter rights organizations. *****DOCUMENT ANY AND
ALL COMPLAINTS IN WRITING/SAVE DATE AND TIME OF
CORRESPONDENCE. ALSO DOCUMENT NAMES OF WITNESSES,
ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBERS AND EMAIL ADDRESSES FOR
FUTURE HEARINGS *****"DOCUMENT", "DOCUMENT",
"DOCUMENT"!!!!

Worst Ever rally for Bush Big D visit
|
|
|
|
George W. Bush is bringing his politics of
hate and deceit to Dallas on election eve,and we are
going to be there to call him on every one of his
lies and tall tales.
Bush and the Republican thugs think he'll
get a free ride in Dallas on election eve. First,
he'll headline a huge pep rally to prop up
faltering Republican spirits.
Then, he joins he joins fellow, former
cheerleader Rick "What was that about a tax cut?"
Perry and their real constituents, the rich and
richer, for a posh fundraising banquet.
We will be there and this is your chance to help
spoil Bush's day. Let the international news
media that will be traveling with him know how we
really feel about Bush, his lies and his policies
of death and greed.
Plan to be at Ferris Plaza (in front of
Union Station) at 4:00 p.m. Dress warmly and
bring a flashlight, as well as your signs or
banners. You'll find complete details at
"Worst Ever" Rally page.
Speaking of signs, please check our
"Worst Ever" Rally page for suggestions on signs
that fit in with the theme -"Worst Ever". You will
find some templates and designs you can download and
use.
No, no one is telling you what to say. These are
suggestions from the organizers for showing a
unified theme. Of course, you may say what you wish.
On the
"Worst Ever" Rally page, you also can
download flyers that you can print and pass
around. Also,
check out our press release here.
Organizers strongly recommend you take DART
rail or bus. Those coming from Tarrant County, and
other points west, are urged to take the Trinity
Railway Express. Again, links to both can be
found at the
"Worst Ever" Rally page.
Dallas Air America Radio Groups is taking a
lead role in this event and we need
help from volunteers now, as well as on the
night of the rally.
Those attending the rally, please check daily
on our
"Worst Ever" Rally page for updates. It
would be a good idea to check it out before you
leave home Monday, just in case.
If you have any connections with the news
media, bloggers, community groups or anything
like that, please
go to our press release , where you can download
a copy of the news release we have put out. Drop a
copy by your local paper, your school newspaper,
your church newspaper or anywhere you think of,
short of littering.
This effort is growing daily. If the words --
"I am mad as hell, and I am not going to take it
anymore!"* - ring true to you, you need to be at
the rally.
See you at the "Worst Ever" rally!
The actual quote from the 1976 movie
Network is "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm
not going to take this anymore!"
