What can you do to help ? |

Please contact me if you are interested in
investing in a new station ( *note[- not a donation)
and being involved in a business plan and a real
business strategy for community ownership of AAR
station(s).
Also please contact me if you are interested in
advertising on a new station or buying air time for
your own local program.
Make sure you have signed one or both of the
petitions and consider getting and staying involved
in our group – our YAHOO group has become the "netroot"
community in North Texas for progressive/democratic
news discussion, and activism in DFW ! We also have
a Meetup and book club that meet for various events.
You may join our groups

Air America Fans speak out ... |
 |
A few thoughts from AAR member Lee Dunkelberg...
Air America filing bankruptcy did little here
locally except change the play of a rather nice
article The Dallas Morning News was preparing
on our efforts to get AAR back on the air here.
The news item
you can read here has a great tone and balance.
It was great.
The only disappointment was that we did not get our
own day in the sun.
Meanwhile, out Where the West Begins, AAR's filing
made front page of The Fort Worth Star- Telegram
business section (click
here). In a box with a big picture of Al
Franken, The basic facts are given out fairly. The
only quote in the piece is from a right-wing radio
chowderhead, who will remain nameless (and will not
face charges in connection with his sex tourism).
Of course, there were plenty of yucks from the
primates and invertebrates of right-wing radio.
However, they are not worth listening to on a good
day, much less a bad one.
When you are preyed upon by the fans of the
convicted felons, perverts and pedophile defenders
on the radio dial, just give them the old
Mark Twain line.
"The report of my death was an exaggeration."
However, that might require too much explaining
for zittoheads, who probably think Mark Twain is
"that
cop in the O.J. trial who got a raw deal".
Just ask them how come admitted crooked lawmaker Bob
Ney is still getting a check from the
taxpayers and how just much will Mark Foley's
pension be?

Dallas Morning News story ... Air America
files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Saturday, October
14, 2006 By LAURA SCHREIER /
The Dallas Morning News Air America Radio, the
left-leaning news and talk network featuring
political humorist Al Franken, filed for Chapter 11
bankruptcy Friday, confirming weeks of speculation.
Air America has struggled financially since its
inception. ....The news didn't shock Dallas
Air America Radio Groups, which is dedicated
to promoting the network. Heck, it didn't even faze
its attempts to get Air America back on the air in
North Texas.
